Cold Pressed Juice Detox Cleanse: Are you doing it right?

By Sanjay Kumar

Festive Season is all about eating sweets without giving a care leading to an immense amount of weight gain! But, worry not, we’ve got you covered:

A night of binge drinking and overindulgence calls for curative action the next morning. Have you just come back from a particularly hedonistic holiday? Well, that too means you now need to give your body a rejuvenating break! It’s important to let your body’s natural healing processes take over. The simplest way to do so is with juice! It’s true, all your favorite celebrities, from Nicole Richie, Salma Hayek to Gwyneth Paltrow, swear by juice cleanses and are loyal advocates of the benefits that doing a cleanse can yield. Even closer home we find some celebrities who have confessed their love for a juice cleanse, be it our very own Iron Man Milind Soman, Bruna Abdullah, Karan Wahi, etc. The best part is that doing a juice cleanse is so easy and also enjoyable for the palate.

What might seem like a RAW deal is actually an effective way to let out the toxins and retained water content from your body? Detoxing the body with a juice-based diet allows it to absorb more phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables than what you’d get from your regular diet. The benefits of a juice cleanse also encompass improved digestion, clearer and healthier skin, higher mental alertness, more energy and of course, a flatter belly!

But before you get ecstatic at the fact that getting leaner and healthier is so easy, remember that just a juice cleanse isn’t enough and it’s essential to do it right! A juice cleanse has to be accompanied by other lifestyle changes to see good results. A regular exercise regimen and a good, nourishing diet are essentials. A cleanse has to be a bouquet of cultivated choices for the health conscious. Most early adopters of the cleanse program struggle with their commitment to a healthy diet. The underlying message is that juice based cleansing can’t be isolated from the universe as a mere remedy to a hangover or a shortcut to weight loss. It has to be more than that.
